WebSep 5, 2024 · The 5.90 fronts went on the 4 1/2 inch steel wheels easily. The 8.20 rears won't stretch out enough to seat the beads on my 5 1/2 inch wheels. These tires are rugged, heavy monsters. They feel like 10 ply truck tires. My tire guys trued every trick in their book and no success. I have my tires static balanced with all of the weights on the inside; this was done initially for cosmetic purposes, but I discovered that the ride was better than the so-called dynamic balance that had weight scattered all over the tire.

WebApr 19, 2024 · My 47 has Diamondback radial tires and Diamondback used a Yokohama light truck tire to make the 700x15 radials for the car. The Yokohama light truck tire calls for 55 lbs. After talking with Diamondback I dropped the pressure to 37 lbs. Probably will not get all the mileage from the tire at 37 but the car handles and rides great. I know the wider whitewalls can be appealing, but they probably aren't what came on the car and I found that the Diamondback radials whitewall width looks a lot more like the original tires.
