WebMay 25, 2014 · From my understanding E85 is much higher octane than 91 but it's not as efficient. I had between 1/8-1/4 of tank of 91 when I added 10 gallons of E85 today to test it out. So after I run this tank down I will add more E85 and start calculating, if I can get better mileage with E85 than 91 then I will happily switch to get the higher octane.
